• What specific requirements did you have when you were looking for a wedding venue?

We wanted somewhere that felt warm and cosy. That had everything on site and also had accommodation. Something that felt homely, nothing too large, but big enough to fit all our family and friends. We didn’t want too big a venue as I find you lose guests to other parts of the venue sometimes. A bar in the main function room was also a must! 

• In what geographical area did you concentrate your search and why?

We wanted something local within Lancashire. Although Chris is from Glossop, we both settled in Blackburn with our little family, so wanted to keep within Lancashire.

• How far in advance of your wedding day did you book the venue?

It was around 20 months in advance I think. We booked in September 2024 and got married in April 2026.

• Tell us the reasons why you chose your venue ?

The staff are incredible at Springbank Manor. From the get go, Blake was on hand with everything, he was so welcoming and made us feel at ease. We also met Michael the owner, as it had just been taken over by him as we were looking to book our venue. He explained all the work he was hoping to complete and timescales in which he was hoping the works would be done by. Showed us pictures of how he was hoping it would look and also invited us over to The Lawrence to look at their decor as he was hoping for something along the same vibes. The size of Springbank Manor was perfect for what we wanted and it had everything we were looking for, and a bonus was that it was just about to be renovated. And we felt we could trust in Michael and Blake enough to what they were envisioning, for it to come to life for when we were due to get married. 

• Were there any specific features at the venue that made for great photo opportunities?

The doorway to the venue I loved and specifically wanted a night time shot in it as it is a big wide doorway. (yes i got my shot and it is my favourite photo so far!) Also although the grounds aren’t huge, there is enough greenery around to ensure beautiful photos. Also we were advised there would be a patio area being built at the back (which there is) again another great photo opportunity. The chandelier on the stairs as well is a show stopper!!

• Talk about the wedding venue team, how did they look after you in the run up to your wedding and on the big day itself?

Honestly, we cannot thank them enough for how they treat us throughout the wedding planning and also on the big day! They were all fantastic. A huge special mention to Blake who could not do enough for us and helped us with our wedding planning throughout. No request was too big, and he was on hand to advise at all times. All the staff always made us feel welcome whether we were just visiting or attending our wedding meetings. They have been a huge part in our wedding. On the day itself, everything ran smoothly, there was always someone around to ask questions, and Blake made the day feel effortless! We were invited to a wedding taster evening which was amazing!

• Who styled your venue for you?

Antha Event Hire styled our venue, I also added a few small touches. We wanted something classy and elegant and that would be timeless in our photos. With the renovations in the main function room and the new flooring, the white decor we picked looked absolutely stunning. We went for beiges and greens within our wedding party so we wanted the decor to make a statement but not look too much. It was absolutely stunning and went so well in the room.

• Finally, tell us why you would recommend your wedding venue to other engaged couples looking for their perfect venue.

Beautiful venue, amazing staff, the best wedding coordinator around (Blake). You will be immensely looked after throughout your planning and your big day. The food was amazing and everyone commented on how good it was. If you're thinking about adding canapes - do it!! We added quite a few extra’s and were so glad we did!
